We will entertain our guests with a butchering demo in the main dining room. Pigs are raised in Forestville..we will prepare the cuts for curing and we will offer a "porterhouse" chop for two as addition on the regular menu.

Fall 2016

Greetings from Canneti Roadhouse Italiana Staff to all our beloved Guests.

 

As every Fall..new ingredients are now getting into Canneti's menu. We just received the first beautiful and fresh Porcini Mushrooms from Occidental...young Sheep from Olivet Farm..Alba White Truffles and..for the first time after many years of search....sustainable Lobster from fishing vessel Lemar... NJ.

We advise all our guests to place a reservation..especially during the week-ends and on Tuesdays. As we closed the outdoor the indoor seating capacity is limited and we do not take more than 3 tables every 30 minutes.

From 11/1 to 11/26 we will run a special pre-fix 3 course Menu in honor of Thanksgiving Holidays.

Enjoy the coming Holidays and don't forget..you can have dinner with us in front of a popping fireplace!

Buon giorno a tutti

Tomatoes, eggplants and zucchini are finally in season. Many new ingredients on our lunch and dinner menu, including a fabulous Sonoma Hill Ranch Goat roast, San Diego Albacore Tuna Steak, local young Octopus and Coon Stripe Shrimps!

Holiday's goodies!

The Food: We collected for our dear Guests the best ingredients that late Fall and Winter can offer: Italian White and Black Truffles, Linden Chestnuts, Mendocino Porcini Mushrooms, Quails from Fairfield and Geese from Salmon Creek, Sebastopol Veal! The coming week we will replace the Tuscan Tasting Menu with an Italian Holiday Menu!

Pig butchering demo

Tomorrow, Friday 24th we will show how to break down a whole pig and we will explain the process of curing Salumi. Demo takes place in the back patio, it begins at 10.30am and it will end at 12pm.

Italian White Truffles!

Italian Truffles are known as some of the best Truffles in the world. Alba are the most famous, but you can find them in other Regions such as Toscana in San Gimignano and San Mignato, or the famous Crete Senesi Truffles form Siena; or in Marche Region. Canneti Roadhouse just got in some beautiful truffles from Marche, a region just below Tuscany.

Truffle is shaved over any item on the regular menu and also on a special pasta with butter, shallots and thyme.

Crab and goose...mid-fall ingredients

New Ingredients and new Wines at Canneti Roadhouse Italiana.

The Food:

Crab is finally in season and we just received the first delivery from fishing Vessel Nouctila. These crabs are from 2 to 3lb, very tasty and it seems like it will be an exceptional Crab season.

After searching for 16 months all over the valley, we have finally found someone who raises geese! Salmon Creek Ranch is located in Bodega Bay..we invite every one to visit their stand at the Well's Fargo Farmer's Market. Roasted Goose with Tuscan Kale and Raisins will soon be available on the regular Menu and on the Tuscan tasting Menu.

The goal of Canneti Team is to offer hearty yet not banal ingredients and exclusive wines in a warm, inviting environment. The artisan work in the kitchen is presented to our Guests on Italian hand made plate ware by Vietri and Rosenthal, the wines are poured into Rocco Bormioli and the tables themselves are custom made by a local artist.

The Wines:

Following this philosophy, Canneti Roadhouse Sommelier and Proprietor Francesco Torre is selecting many small unpretentious but excellent wineries, along with the most acclaimed local and Tuscan wines. After Williams Selyem and Trombetta, we introduced into the wine list three Tuscan "musts":

Guado al Tasso, Tenuta di Bolgheri 2008 (Cab. Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot), Sassicaia, Tenuta di Tignanello 2011 (Cabernet Sauvignon) and Solaia (Cab. Sauvignon, San Giovese and Cab. Franc).

Because of the high cost of all we craft in the house, the cured table setting and many other details you will notice in the house, Canneti is not able to comp any corkage or give any kind of discount. We void a corkage fee for every full bottle purchased from our list and we also offer a corkage free night every Wednesday. Goats and new wine entries!

Dear friends

Next week we will put on the menu a classic Tuscan "end-of-summer" dish...Honey and Laurel braised Goat. The goat is from Bohemian Creamery...this is not a boutique goat and Lisa is a master in her job.

From Tuscany: Il Pareto di Nozzole, Tenute Ambrogio Folonari. This is a real Super-Tuscan. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon crafted with hand picked grapes. Price on our Wine List 110  Wine Club 85

-We feature now Windsor Oaks Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2013. Very crisp with accentuated notes of Yellow Peaches

-Williams Selyem unoaked Chardonnay 2012. Stainless steel for this estate grown varietal...exclusive like just Canneti Roadhouse Italiana can offer.

New Wines

Goat seems to be the trend of 2014. But here, at Canneti Roadhouse, we don't follow trends...trends seems to follow us! Lisa..the cheese genius of Bohemian Creamery just butchered a goat of 26 lb for us. This deliciousness will be on the menu starting next week.

The Wines:

William Foss is producing his own label now: Foss Pinot Noir 2012, is a single vineyard, 100% Pommard. Grapes are grown on the Blue Cottage Ranch, on Eastside Road. Elegant and fine like a French Pinot....it stands at the same level of the best Russian River Pinot Noir!

Cultus Boni: "the good harvest". This special Chianti Classico Reserve is one of its kind in Tuscany. Produced in Gaiole in Chainti by Badia a Coltibuono....this wine is organic and Canneti is the only restaurant carrying it.

Passalaqua does not distribute to restaurants..the production is too small and always sell out. But Canneti is serving Sauvignon Blanc, Longo Vineyard to die for.

Canneti Game Season

Ciao a Tutti

Game season at Canneti  just started. This week we got in a REAL Wild Boar of 100 lb...young and tasty but not gamy. Roasted Boar Chops and an antique Tuscan recipe called" Wild Boar in Sweet&Sour Chocolate Sauce" are the new items on the menu.

In the "Sweet&Sour" Sauce:

Dark Chocolate, Pine Nuts, Rosemary, Bay leaf, Soffritto (Celery-Carrots-Onion), candy Oranges and crispy Siena Bread to go with!

We will be serving soon also Quails.

Operating Hours and Tuscan Tastings

Starting May 27th Canneti will be open on Tuesday dinners! Come to enjoy our beautiful patio...far from the street noises and from the quarry dusty Trucks!

Also starting Friday May 16th Canneti will offer Tuscan Wine Tastings. In the charming setting of the Art Room we will pour a selection of Tuscan wines..including the famous Panizzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Rosso di Montalcino Agostina Pieri. New wines and beers at Canneti

Ciao a tutti

Passalacqua Sauvignon Blanc Longo Vineyard finally made it to Canneti. We are very proud to say we are one of the few..if not the only one! to carry this jam of Dry Creek. Many thanks to Jason, Sue, Stacy and all the wonderful Passalacqua Winery staff.

Cultus Boni Chianti Classico 2009 is arrived as well. Canneti is the only restaurant on the US soil to have this wine...that is not imported yet.

For the beer's lovers, Henhouse of Petaluma brews a wonderful Oyster Stout made with Drake's Bay Oysters. Creamy and smooth, it will last just one month. Canneti, along with its sisters Kenwood Restaurant and Fish. Restaurant is delighted to serve it.
